What are the hardships and joys of being an international student in Malaysia?

When it comes to studying aboard, an internationals student faces various limitations and also enjoys various advantages. Choosing Malaysia as your point of destination might be your prefer choice. Malaysia holds the title of one of the most advancing countries offering quality educations with the commitment of the Government of making Malaysia one of the best in 2020.
Every year the number of international students enrolling into Malaysian universities recorded an increased. With students emerging from all over the world to study in Malaysia.
And with Matrix Pacific Resources Sdn. Bhd running up an international students placement agency in Malaysia, we asked some of the international students to share with us their thoughts and impressions on studying and living in Malaysia.
More precisely we asked them: What are the hardships and joys of being an international student in Malaysia?
Below are some of their responses
“Been an international student in any giving country means a difficult starts, but in Malaysia things are differently not so. To start with, there are good and cheap foods everywhere and at any time, good transportation system, accommodations are also of reasonable cost. As an average international student you can be rest assured to survive with USD. 10 per day, this makes it more affordable and enjoyable to study in Malaysia. And again as Malaysia with differs cultures and religions one can easily learn and adapt to culture of your choice.

“Sometime languages can be a barrier in Malaysia which can relatively lead to hardships, but in my opinion, this is just a temporary issues which as an international student’s you can copy with. Malay language is easy to learn and understand; moreover universities in Malaysia taught their courses in English Language. Malaysia has a lot of beautiful palaces for vacations, sighting, Impressive buildings, bridges, parks and recreational sites and many more and the people of Malaysia are generally friendly.

“The Malay language could be another hardship but, on the other hand, Malaysia is extremely international, so there are job opportunities for non-Malay speakers in nearly every field of expertise. Most of the Malaysian speaks English, so everyday life activities are not an issue.”

“The People of Malaysia are very friendly, open-minded, and tolerant. Since there are so many other cultures present in Malaysia, there are also many different cuisines, diverse interest and sports clubs, and abundant opportunities for nightlife. I, personally, value the dynamics and the cultural variety of Malaysia the most.”

“The weather in Malaysia is like most countries, E.g Nigeria, the typical Malaysian weather is Hot and Rainy only, which make it easier for international students to adapt”.

Lastly, flows of energy and creativity in culture and science seem to twist together to form Malaysia into a hub of innovation and a challenging place for youth to study, stay and grow, to make friends and become an international-friendly person. In other words, hardships always exist somewhere and somehow, but it is worth experiencing Malaysia to live life to the fullest.
